EPS block molding machine is used to make the expanded eps beads into a big piece of block. The sizes of block can be different sizes according to your requirement. After the pre-expander expand the eps material, the expanded beads have to stay in the silo for some time. Then they will be put into the eps block molding machine. There are a lot of air holes on the mould walls, steam can enter the mould through these holes and make the beads soft and expand. Because of the limit of the mould cavity, the expanded beads are connected and fill in the whole mould and sticked together to become a whole piece.
The eps styrofoam block molding machine consists of feeding system, heating system, cooling system, hydraulic system, pneumatic system and PLC control system.
1.Feeding system
The material feeding is made by filling guns. These guns draw the beads into the mould cavity by negative pressure. Normally it takes about 40 seconds to fill the mould. We choose different diameter filling guns according to the product size.
2. Heating System & Cooling System
The heating system adopts the technique of penetrating heating, so the machine can save energy and the steam consumption is less.
After the product is heated and filled in the whole cavity of the mould, it needs some time to cool before de-molding. There are normally 2 ways of cooling system. One is air-cooling. The other is vacuum cooling. If you want to make low-density blocks(e.g. 5-10kg/m3), then the way of air cooling is enough. If you want to make high density blocks, then you had better use vacuum cooling system to help shorten the cooling time.(see the photo below)
3. Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system is used to control the opening and closing of the mould, the ejection of the board, etc.
4. Pneumatic System
Pneumatic system is used to turn on and off the valves, the on and off of the filling guns, etc.
5. Electric Control System
Electric control system consists of PLC, electric elements ( contactor, relay, switch, breakers, etc)

◆The block molding machine is equipped with a pressure sensor, replacing the electric contact pressure gauge, with good stability, high accuracy and low failure rate.
◆The block molding machine uses a patented technology to replace the vacuum tank with a simple vacuum system. The board with a density of 20kg / m3 can reach 5 minutes/cycle, which consumes even less power than the air-cooling block molding machine.
◆The material of the inner cavity of the block molding machine is stainless steel plated with Teflon.
◆The block molding machine adopts double-head steam inlet method, which optimizes the air intake pipe and internal steam pipe, and the steam energy consumption is lower.
◆The block molding machine is equipped with a plc control system. Customers can choose to purchase a fully-automatic finished board conveying system and an automatic drying room system.
◆The block molding machine is equipped with high-speed hydraulic pumping station and ejection hydraulic synchronization system.
